While IICS has a wide range of Community & Service programs, independent student and faculty initiatives are encouraged and supported. We encourage all members of our community to act on their social outreach interests and here are just a few of the projects students and staff initiated and implement in the past few years...
Initiated by faculty members, each November the school embraces Movember, the international awareness campaign for prostate cancer. For this awareness raising, male members of faculty-- as well as interested Secondary student boys-- grow their facial hair all month long. These moustache brothers (Mo Bros) are supported by the female student and staff (Mo Sistas) in their various outreach activities.
Student Evan initiated an awareness raising and fund raising campaign about Leukemia, which culminated in Evan and a group of students shaving their heads in solidarity with children who lose their hair during cancer treatment.
Students Hamza and Waleed held numerous fund raising activities to garner material support for the victims of the 7.2 earthquake that hit Pakistan in January 2011 in a 14 month project that became part of IICS Community & Service projects.
Students publicized Earth Hour to reduce the use of electricity.
